Pinterest or NOT?
Pinterest is both the best and the worst thing to ever happen in my life (and the rest of the planners of the world, I'm sure...) What can I say? Pinterest has some AMAZING ideas and projects that you can do for your weddings, birthday parties, and even corporate events! I am a pinterest fanatic, but I know my limits and it's important that anyone planning an event knows theirs too.
People on pinterest make their projects looks so incredibly easy, but if you have ever tried to complete one of those then you have first hand knowledge that they are professionals and you are a mere beginner in the world of arts and crafts. Personally, I have many, many failed attempts when it comes to Pinterest ideas that I am POSITIVE I am capable of doing. It's almost never as easy as it looks though...
Pinterest is a great way to get ideas and make your wedding exactly what you wanted and on a budget, but before you buy all of the supplies make sure that you (and whoever you have enlisted to help you) can actually do the project! Try not to complicate it. You don't want to be crying over how to fold a piece of paper the night before your wedding because it just doesn't look like the swans that the woman on Pinterest made in two seconds and it's taken you five hours.. Go the simple, yet elegant route. You will love the outcome and you won't be stressed over whether or not you can complete the project! Like I said, I LOVE Pinterest, but it can be tragic if you have your heart set on something that can't be completed. Be sure you know what you're getting yourself into!

Give Back to Others This Holiday Season!
"We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone..."
Heathrow & Legacy Club are BIG supporters of different charitable organizations! We give back every chance we get, especially during the holiday season!Every little boy and girl deserves to have a gift under the tree on Christmas morning! Heathrow & Legacy have boxes throughout the clubs for donations to Toys for Tots and we will be collecting unwrapped toys during the holiday season.
We are also collecting donations for Safe House of Seminole County on December 9th during our bi-weekly WOAMTEC meeting. Jeanne Gold of Safe House will be here to immediately take any unwrapped toys to be sure they are received on time!
The Sharing Center in Longwood is another AMAZING place for donations! They have a thrift store as well as a food bank and much, much more. The company feeds nearly 500 families each holiday and they are ALWAYS taking donations! They also have a program called Bless Our Soles they collect $20 donations which are used to purchase gift cards to Payless ShoeSource giving children in need the chance to purchase a brand new pair of shoes, maybe even two!
We are also running our Share Your Holiday Special for Christmas Eve To Go meals. Every family who purchases a meal is eligible to purchase a FULL Christmas Eve meal for a family in need for only $50!
Please consider others this holiday season, anything from a box of stuffing to a pair of socks can help a family out more than you can ever imagine! Help us and others give back this holiday season and take the time to donate to one of these incredible organizations! If you have any questions please email tcurlin@heathrowcc.com or catering-intern@heathrowcc.com We would LOVE to hear from you!

It's All About Who You Know!
Networking is the KEY to success!
Are you someone who has the drive and potential to run their own business? Are you interested in becoming a business professional who is in charge of yourself? Heathrow & Legacy Club host the bi-weekly meetings each month for WOAMTEC for the Heathrow chapter and as of this month, the Longwood-Altamonte chapter as well! This new chapter is growing like wildfire! We love all of the support and connections we are gaining and we look forward to seeing more new faces in the near future!
What Is WOAMTEC?
WOAMTEC stands for Women on a Mission to Earn Commission. It is a group of women (and several men) who meet to discuss their personal selling or their businesses and get word out about the services that they offer. They host business building events to network and get to know one another, share ideas, offer support and create business connections. The goal of WOAMTEC is to your business and strengthen the community. Why WOAMTEC?
Not only do you build business connections, you create friendships! Many of the women in WOAMTEC have known each other since the start and have become a close knit group of women. It is also an opportunity to build your professional network and you know that you have a group of women who will continually support and encourage you as well as refer people to you and your business! Our very own Toni Curlin is the Director of the Longwood-Altamonte chapter and we are so lucky and pleased to have her! Without her INCREDIBLE connections, we would not have half of the AMAZING vendors that we do for our events at each club!
How Can You Get Involved?
Join us for the Holiday Luncheon at Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes on Wednesday, December 9th at 11:30 AM! There will be a BEAUTIFUL buffet, networking opportunities, and of course it wouldn't be a holiday party without a game of White Elephant! Bring your business cards and your gifts and come check out the Longwood-Altamonte Chapter of WOAMTEC in action! We are also collecting unwrapped toys for Safe House of Seminole County for women and children. Jeanne Gold, the CEO of Safe House will be in attendance to take any donations to ensure the kids will have a gift to open on Christmas morning! Any donations are GREATLY appreciated! We look forward to meeting you and networking with new businesses!
*Lunch is $20 inclusive*
PLEASE contact Toni Curlin at tcurlin@heathrowcc.com for more information or just to attend a meeting and see what WOAMTEC is all about! We love new faces and being involved in new business ventures!

Do You NEED a Wedding Planner?
Wedding Planners vs Event Coordinators
At Heathrow, we are a full service venue. We have on-site catering, room options, dinnerware and event coordinators. As event coordinators, Toni, Rebecca, and Cassie are in the office to help you plan your wedding from menu to colored cloths and meal choices! We are here for you throughout the whole process making sure that the day of and everything leading up to it runs smoothly! So you may be wondering if you would need to hire a wedding planner too....
There is no correct answer for this question, it's a matter of personal preference.. We are here to help you with everything you need, but we don't do everything for you. The event coordinators at Heathrow & Legacy make sure that the room set up is exactly what you want and that the food comes out on time and everyone is seated when they should be. We keep track of the event as a whole, but while we notice some things, we aren't watching out for all of the little details that the wedding planner might be looking for. Of course, we do whatever we can, but our concern is the bigger picture and making sure that the bride and groom are happy!
Having a wedding planner can be very useful, if you have the means to do so, but it's not necessary with multiple on-site coordinators! We love our wedding planner friends and family and we support and encourage them so if you would prefer to have one, please let us know and we can lead you to someone we trust! Just know that we are also here to help any way that we can to make your dream wedding come to life!

The Future of Business is Social
"The ROI of Social Media is that your business will still exist in 5 years"
Everyone knows how inadvertently important social media is. If we didn't have it, how would ever know what is going on with people? The days of calling them on their landline are long past, it's all about cell phones, texting, and social media such as Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook. At Heathrow & Legacy club we are VERY active with our social media accounts! We love what we do and we love sharing the experience even more! Staying connected with our members and even people who just attend events here is important to us. We want people to know what is going on and be aware that while we are a private club, we do have opportunities for both members and non-members to enjoy what we have to offer!
You can find us on Twitter with updates about golf tournaments, weddings, and more. We are active with our Periscope, which links to our Twitter account to give live feed of events that we host as well as photo shoots and much MORE!
Our Facebook is ALWAYS being updated giving you the latest details on upcoming events as well as Wedding Wednesday, Throwback Thursday, and Feature Friday posts weekly! We talk about whats happening and interact with users daily.
Please check out ALL of our social media platforms and don't forget to follow us!
